Startup Scaleup: accelerating IoT innovation
Applications for round two of Startup Scaleup, a six month long, 0% equity accelerator for IoT startups who are serious about growth, has just opened. We spoke to Tanya Suarez, CEO at Bluspecs Innovation, to find out more.
The first edition of Startup Scaleup supported 49 startups from all over Europe, including Briteyellow, a 3D wayfinding startup based in Milton Keynes and chosen by the Digital Catapult last year in their Internet of Things showcase. Through the Startup Scaleup network, Briteyellow has now been offered space in London’s prestigious Level 39 and is currently exploring some major contracts with healthcare clients and distributors.
You’ll join Startup Scaleup at the hub of your choice (Madrid-Cartagena, Dublin, Zoetermeer or Vilnius) for a kick-off ‘IoT-ers’ week to get to know other startups on the programme and work on key business and technology concepts. The next six months will be spent back at your own base, with regular touchpoints with your mentor and the rest of Startup Scaleup.
Ask Me Anythings (AMAs) provide you with the insights you need to fast track your product and your business. The bar has been set high with previous AMA’s featuring Prof. Vint Cerf, Google’s Chief Evangelist and one of the ‘fathers of the Internet’ and Philip Moynah, Vice President of Intel’s IoT Group, to name a couple.
If you’ve ever done any business development (i.e. tried to sell anything), you’ll know that building your network is key. Startup Scaleup is not offering you fairy dust, but it is offering you a way to broaden your reach and to make sure you are global from the word go.
If you think you’ve got what it takes and are willing to deliver, apply here.
Startup Scaleup will also be at the Connected Conference in Paris, so come and see us at our booth and chat to some of our current IoT cohort. The kick off is on the 20 June, so good luck and hope to see you at one of the ‘IoT’ers’ weeks soon!
