Come join our friendly IoT meetup group in Brighton! The idea of the Circular Economy has been gathering steam over the last 5 years. According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, it can be defined as follows:
‘Looking beyond the current “take, make and dispose” extractive industrial model, the circular economy is restorative and regenerative by design. Relying on system-wide innovation, it aims to redefine products and services to design waste out, while minimising negative impacts. Underpinned by a transition to renewable energy sources, the circular model builds economic, natural and social capital.’
Can smart connected technology help this process? If so, will it create more problems than it solves? Join our expert panel of speakers to debate this vitally important topic:
Caterina Brandmayr of the Green Alliance will provide an overview of the Circular Economy and describe progress towards this goal
Wayne Hubbard of the London Waste & Recycling Board will report on current initiatives within the capital
Guest chair for the event will be Prof. Ann Light of Sussex University.
There will be ample opportunities for networking and a Q&A panel discussion in the second half of the meeting. Doors open at 17:45 pm for a prompt 6:30pm start.
