CodeBase was founded by brothers Jamie and Stephen Coleman and is the UK’s largest technology incubator, nurturing over 60 of the best and brightest software companies. Their mission is to grow startups to become global players by providing business support, investment opportunities and world class mentorship.
CodeBase carefully curate companies from all industries, which have a software product at their core. CodeBase have companies working in the fields of medtech, fintech, gaming, social media platforms, cloud services, big data analytics, app development, AI and marketing technology. The strengths of the Edinburgh tech ecosystem lie in the B2B/enterprise realms, and its tenants very much reflect this.
In order to build Edinburgh’s growing reputation as an international tech cluster, CodeBase organise a busy schedule of workshops, meetups, and social events as well as larger conferences and festivals, all in their dedicated events space. Each August, CodeBase organises the Turing Festival: the Edinburgh International Festival of Technology. To address the skills gap in IT in Scotland, CodeBase also host weekly free coding events for under 19s, as well as adults interested in career changes.
